Hello and welcome to the website of Mark Stoddart.
I am a sculptor living in St Ives in Cornwall and I create abstract sculptures in bronze, stone and marble. My influences include artists such as Barbara Hepworth, Henry Moore and Ben Nicholson. My work has been exhibited at some of the respected art galleries in St Ives.
On this website you will find more information about me and my abstract sculpture and a gallery showing some of the work I have created in the last few years. There is also a news section where I will post anything of interest that will be coming up in the near future and if you are interested in commissioning a sculpture for a specific requirement and working with me directly, I have included a page for commissions.
I should pay a small tribute to my friends Judy and Paul Joel of the Little Picture Gallery in Moushole and who encouraged me to get my work prepared for showing. They gave me very good support and now show my work in their gallery, and also to Henry C Gilbert of the Wills Lane Gallery in St. Ives. In 2003 I showed him items from my first collection, Henry was very generous in his comments and from 2003 until his retirement in 2007 always showed some of my work. The Wills lane Gallery is now under new ownership, but I felt the need to say thanks to Henry for his magnanimous support. |
